    Terms of Service

    Last updated August 2026

These terms govern the quotation, fabrication, and delivery of Vertical Custom Supply product. Accepting a quote accepts what follows.

    1 · Trade only

We sell to architects, interior designers, and developers. We do not sell to end consumers. The firm or the developer is the client of record, and that is who we deal with: submittals, approvals, and coordination run through you, not through your client.

    2 · Quotes

A quote is based on the scope described in it and is valid for 30 days. Every quote is broken out by line item. Where something is carried as an allowance because the selection does not exist yet, we say which line and why.

3 · Design, drawings, and approval

We design the pieces. You do not need to send us early SDs to begin; the intent of the project is enough. We produce shop drawings and submit them for your review, and that set becomes the document the work is built from and the document the delivery is measured against.

Nothing enters production without your written approval of the shop drawings and of the material and finish selections. Our drawings are fabrication documents: they are not stamped or sealed by a licensed professional, and they do not replace the project's construction documents.

    4 · Field dimensions

Custom product is fabricated against the building as built, not against the drawing. The field survey has to happen after the surfaces the work bears on or meets are in their final position, and before fabrication is released. If the dimensions we receive did not come from a survey, or if the building moves after it, the adjustment is on the project.

    5 · Lead times

The typical fabrication window is ten to twelve weeks and starts when four things are in place: approved shop drawings, confirmed material and finish, agreed pricing, and deposit received. Freight to the project site is added to that window. A complex scope sits toward the long end; we give you the honest range at scope confirmation.

Changes after approval restart the clock on what they touch. A material substitution requested mid-queue can cost a flitch that was already selected and sequenced.

6 · Materials and natural variation

We work in solid hardwoods, veneers, stone, and fine surfaces. Wood and stone vary in color, grain, and figure between pieces and between lots, and that variation is a property of the material rather than a defect. Where uniformity matters, it is specified and physical samples on the actual substrate are approved before production. Approved samples are the standard of acceptance.

7 · Delivery, inspection, and installation

Work is crated to protect finished surfaces and precision components, and delivered to the agreed site address. Inspect on arrival: transit damage is reported within five business days of delivery, with photographs, or it stops being claimable.

Installation is NOT included. It is performed by the crew you choose. We also do not include rigging, in-building hauling, electrical or plumbing work, or site finishing, unless the quote says so in writing.

    8 · Site conditions

Product is delivered to be installed into a building already operating at the conditions it will hold in service: permanent climate control running, wet work complete, envelope closed. Wood reaches equilibrium with the air around it. Delivery into conditions other than those agreed releases us from responsibility for movement-related defects.

    9 · Payment

Unless the quote says otherwise, a deposit is required to release fabrication and the balance is due before shipment. The product is made to one project: once fabrication is released, the order is non-cancellable and non-returnable, because it cannot be resold.

10 · What we stand behind

We stand behind the fabrication: that the piece was built to the specified grade and to the shop drawings you approved. If something does not meet that, we correct it or replace it.

We do not cover material movement caused by conditions outside those agreed, normal wear, damage from installation or use, failure to maintain the finish, or modifications made by others. Our liability is limited to the value of the affected product.

11 · Intellectual property and confidentiality

Your design is yours. Our shop drawings and fabrication details are ours, and are licensed to you for the project at hand. We do not publish images or project names from a client without written permission.

12 · Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States. Where a quote, a signed project agreement, or a purchase order says something different from this document, the signed document governs.
